NetPulse ("we", "our", or "the app") is a network diagnostics application for Android developed by Ashwin S Ashok. This privacy policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Network Diagnostics Data

NetPulse performs network measurements including speed tests, latency checks, Wi-Fi signal analysis, and connectivity diagnostics. This data is:

• Stored locally on your device only
• Never transmitted to our servers
• Fully under your control — you can view and delete your test history at any time

Device and Network Information

To perform diagnostics, the app accesses:

• Network connection type (Wi-Fi, cellular, ethernet)
• Wi-Fi signal strength and frequency
• IP address (used locally for network tests, not stored or transmitted)
• Device model and Android version (for diagnostics display only)

This information is processed on-device and is not sent to external servers beyond what is required to perform a speed test (connecting to a speed test server to measure throughput).

Purchase Information

NetPulse offers optional in-app purchases (premium subscription and tips) through Google Play Billing. All payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment details such as credit card numbers or billing addresses.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

If you install the app from a build that includes Firebase services, the app may collect:

• Crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics — stack traces, device model, OS version, and app state at the time of a crash
• Usage analytics via Firebase Analytics — anonymized, aggregate usage patterns such as which features are used and session duration

This data is processed by Google Firebase in accordance with Google's privacy policy. No personally identifiable information is intentionally collected through analytics.

Information We Do Not Collect

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Contacts, photos, or files
• Advertising identifiers — the app contains no ads
• Browsing history

Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following third-party services:

• Google Play Billing — for processing in-app purchases (Google Privacy Policy)
• Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics — for crash reporting and anonymized usage analytics (Firebase Privacy)
• Speed test servers — the app connects to third-party servers to measure network speed; only the data necessary for the test is transmitted (no personal information)

Data Storage and Security

All diagnostic data and test history is stored locally on your device using an encrypted database. No account creation is required to use the app. We do not operate servers that store your data.

Children's Privacy

NetPulse is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

• Delete test history: You can clear your test history from within the app at any time
• Uninstall: Removing the app deletes all locally stored data
• Opt out of analytics: You can disable analytics collection in your device's Google settings

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
